Welcome to BirtHWays, where you will find support and information to improve your maternity journey in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
The NHS and partner organisations in the two counties have come together as Herefordshire and Worcestershire Local Maternity and Neonatal System to make your maternity experience better. Together partners will offer you personalised care with more choice about your care – for both you and your baby.
Pregnancy is a journey, whether it is your first baby or your family is continuing to grow. We’ll be with you every step of the way, to ensure you can access what you need to help you make the right choices for you and your family, and be as prepared as possible.
On this site you can read real birth stories from local mums, see the latest news from local maternity and neonatal departments, find neonatal and maternity services in your area, and find the support networks available throughout your pregnancy journey.
We’d love to hear from you, so you can also find out how to get in touch or get involved.
For the first time, BirtHWays – which has been created with the help of local mums – brings together all the services across Herefordshire and Worcestershire responsible for supporting and caring for both you and your baby throughout your pregnancy journey. We are working together to ensure that it’s not only easier for you to access high-quality care, but that you are also able to choose the services most suited to your needs.
With choices including homebirth, home-from-home birth centre settings and delivery suites in two hospital locations; where your baby is born is an important choice for you and your family to make.
Before you make your decision you need to know more about the options you have, your own clinical needs and the health of your baby. Our dedicated teams will be able to help you every step of the way so when the time comes you will have the birth that is best for you and your baby.
We are also working with a range of other partners to provide specialist services to help you during your pregnancy.
